Limnetic Villains, the musical guise of Kildare based musician Vincent Lillis, is probably the most prolific artist I’ve encountered in some time (seriously, this guy turns out a huge amount of quality music at a mere whim, nor does he doesn’t sacrifice quantity for quality either).
In keeping with his fecund tendencies he has kindly produced a special one off track for the readers of BarryGruff with Record Store Day tomorrow. ‘Shut The Door (An Unintelligible Yarn)’ sees him continue to embrace his predilection for darkly shady electronics and burning guitars filtered through an eerily murky mix of psychedelic rock and krautrock influences. Similarities with Primal Scream, Death In Vegas or David Holmes are hard to avoid but hardly a bad thing, are they?
Limnetic Villains also released an excellent 20 track free album (yes, 20 track) entitled Depleted earlier in the year, from which there are also two cuts below. You can download Depleted for FREE from here.
