With the ever rising stock of Surfer Blood those involved in side project Weird Wives would have been forgiven for putting it on the back burner. However, the group consisting of 3/5 of Surfer Blood have joined forces with The Band in Heaven for a split release EP.
The Weird Wives material isn’t too dissimilar to their regular duties, rough guitars, lo-fi hazy indie but with creepy vocals. Meanwhile band in Heaven have crafted some outstanding snarling, high energy garage punk.
The split works well with both adept at perfecting murky dark, abrasive and rockin’ garage, a very worthwhile release.
