REID – ‘Singapore’ & ‘Fractures (Feat. Slow Skies)’

REID

It seems like an eternity since we heard anything from REID. It’s certainly been a while, far too long an absence in fact, but the Cork producer (he’s from there, he’s not a maker of cork) is set return with a new EP, Fractures.

The six-track Fractures EP will be released on August 11 through M:UK and will feature contributions from Slow Skies, Woman’s Hour and Sam Mason. Ahead of the EP’s forthcoming release REID has presented us with two tasters of what’s to come in the shape of ‘Singapore’ & ‘Fractures (Feat. Slow Skies)’. ‘Singapore’ is an instrumental affair with a nocturnal, late-night vibe to it as gentle bass hovers above some punchy piano chords and quite snappy percussion. While the aptly titled ‘Fractures’ is moodier, sounding and feeling delicate enough as though it could crumble at any moment, as it flirts with directing you to the dancefloor before shrinking back to skirt around the edges. Always one for the ghostly, dusky yet vivid cuts, REID has provided two superb tracks, what we’ve come to expect from the Irish producer and what has made him an exciting proposition. It’s good to have you back Sir.

You can stream both & download ‘Singapore’ below.

Download | REID – Miami

Since first coming to prominence just over a year ago, Cork producer REID, has been one of the brightest talents to emerge from an impressive and vibrant Irish electronic scene.

REID’s latest track ‘Miami’ continues this trend, showcasing his distinctive style fantastically well. ‘Miami’ washes over you, inducing an atmospheric dreamlike state before a rising blend of murmuring and tropical beats take hold. According to the man himself, this is the last original track until his next EP is finished.

In other REID related news; his remix of ‘Even Though’ will feature on a Kitsuné collaboration EP from  Giraffage and XXYYXX, along with Teen DazeSlow Magic and The One AM Radio.

You can download ‘Miami’ for free below.

REID | Ver

‘Ver’ is the first new material we’ve heard from Cork produced REID since his terrific debut EP last summer.

The track will feature on the Dreams compilation from LYFSTYL music blog and will be available in full on February 14th. ‘Ver’ is quite different to what we’ve heard a lot more at ease than what we’ve heard previously, breaking softer ground it draws you into a dreamlike trance, carrying you above the clouds.

REID takes to the road soon with some of Ireland’s finest electronica artists right now for seven dates across the country as part of the Lightbox tour.

Come On Live Long – White Horses (REID Remix)

Cork producer REID has kicked off 2012, a year which promises to be very good for him with some gusto.

He’s unveiled a reworking of Come On Live Long‘s ‘White Horses’ introducing his formidable atmospheric touch and adding real full on energy, flow and thumping beats. I can’t get enough of this remix at the moment, expect big things from REID this year.

You can catch him in Dublin this weekend at Ones To Watch 2012 @ Whelans (Main Venue) (On stage: 9PM) or Saturday at Forward/Slash @ The Twisted Pepper (On Stage: 10.15PM).

Free Music: REID – ‘Genesis EP’

REID is Eoghan Reid, a 22-year-old producer from Cork who, a few weeks back, released his debut EP for free download on Bandcamp.

Genesis EP  is an exciting blend of atmospheric electronica. The EP is an enthralling listen but it’s strength lies in how tranquil and laid back tracks sit so comfortably with those filled with boisterous energy, al a the title track and the thumping ‘Diptera’. A clever, assured and engrossing debut record.

With fellow Corkman Toby Kaar becoming one rising stars of the burgeoning Irish electronica scene in 2011 and now REID, you would be forgiven for wondering if there is something in the water down there.

Grab the EP for free now via Bandcamp.
