Ed Jones – best known as the vocalist/frontman with Welsh indie-rockers Masters In France – has returned with a brand new single from his solo/side-project, BUCK.

Previous singles ‘Arecibo’ and ‘Underneath The Glow Of My Skin’ marked BUCK as a project to watch, and latest track, ‘Hold On’ is no less impressive. Continuing an exploitative foray through a world of silky, slick electro infused alt-pop, Jones’ soulful vocals ride a wave of electronic flourishes and swells, with subtle gushes and sublime synths. Tinged by a mild manifestation of darkness, the unravelling wave of lush atmospheric melodies and velvety production maintains its luminescence. An undeniably infectious and undeniably glorious. Hopefully 2017 will provide us with plenty more from BUCK, and perhaps something more substantial too.

‘Hold On’ is out now. Check it out below:

Ed Jones – best known as the vocalist/frontman with Welsh indie-rockers Masters In France – has returned with a second single from his solo/side-project called BUCK.

Entitled ‘Underneath The Glow Of My Skin’, it follows ‘Arecibo’, and is similarly brilliant and alluring synth-pop. Centred around some squelching synth, skittering beats and slinking groove, it oozes with an aura of smooth coolness. Jones’ wonderful hushed but soulful vocals ride a wave of electronic flourishes and swells, with subtle gushes leading to some rather epic synthy climaxes. If ‘Arecibo’ was an intriguing first outing from BUCK, ‘Underneath The Glow Of My Skin’ confirms this promise, unravelling before your very ears with a silky, slick and an undeniably glorious tune.

‘Underneath The Glow Of My Skin’ will join ‘Arecibo’ as part of a four-track EP, which will be released toward the end of the year. For now though you can listen to below and if it’s to your liking? You can download ‘Arecibo’ from here.

BUCK – ‘Arecibo’

Ed Jones – best known as the vocalist/frontman with Welsh indie-rockers Masters In France – has stepped out on his own with a solo/side-project called BUCK.

Announcing the project’s arrival, Jones has afforded us a glimpse at what we can expect from BUCK, with the recently released debut single, ‘Arecibo’. A little more pop-orientated than his day job with Masters In France, ‘Arecibo’ takes us away to somewhere of breezy tranquillity and imbued with sunshine and summertime. Lush production combines with an alluring blend of chilled beats, flourishes of soft melodies that undulate with subtle gushes of tropical tones, and tempered by some wonderful hushed vocals that bob on top. An intriguing first outing from BUCK, let’s hope this is a sign of things to come.

‘Arecibo’ will form the first part of a four-track EP, which will be released toward the end of the year. For now though you can listen to below and if it’s to your liking? You can download it from here.
