Aggresive Swans are Munich-based electro-pop duo of Janko Raseta (guitar, production) and Chris Chlupacek (vocals, bass, flute).

Together, the pairing are already proving to be a particularly potent partners in the ’80s tinged dance tunes, that brings the feelgood, party vibe’ stakes – something their new single ‘About You’ proves pretty resolutely. It is bright, upbeat and fun with phased synth and dancey beats aided and abetted by alluring vocals, forming a seductive sound of modern pop and electronica, infused with the spirit of the ’80s, and an overwhelming sense of wild abandon. The groove, the beats and the melody – just fabulous!

Hopefully we’re going to be hearing more from Munich’s Aggressive Swans throughout 2018 and beyond – for now, ‘About You’ is plenty to be getting on with.

GREAT-HEIGHTS-Promo-image-without-text

B O K E H is the artistic alter-ego of Berlin-based, New Zealand-raised actress/musician Chloë Lewer who is proving quite a master for rather wonderful and spiritually sprinkled 80s inspired electro-pop.

‘Great Heights’ is the third single to be released from B O K E H’s debut EP, Don’t Leave The Fire. It is an intimate and emotionally charged cut of cosmic electro-pop crafted around a dreamy beat and eerie but powerfully emotive vocals. Intimate and sincere, Lewer’s vocals score the epic in a dreamy and illuminating world of colourful, 80s indebted electro-pop. There is beauty, there is pain and there is loss – all painted vividly by a colourful, powerful and stunning performance.

You can sample the stunning delights of ‘Great Heights’ below. If that’s to your liking, B O K E H’s debut EP is here in its entirety.

Netherlands-based outfit Klangstof have announced new EP – following up their debut LP Close Eyes To Exit – and they have shared the lead single and title track, ‘Everest’

A slinky, stop-start, swooning slice of ‘synthesizer heaven’, ‘Everest’ shifts through textured verses and a ethereal atmosphere and dreamy chorus to boot. Influenced largely by 80’s synth pop, it is a woozy alt-pop escapade with mild psychedelic feels. It’s a gentle introduction to their sound, laid-back yet focused with flourishes of synth and electronics – it is an equally affable reminder to what makes them a hugely likeable prospect.

The Everest EP is out 3 November via Mind Of A Genius, listen to the lead single and title track below:

Anna of the North – ‘Always’

Having drip-fed and teased us with a series of stellar synth-pop singles, Norwegian-New Zealand electro-pop pairing Anna of the North released their wonderful debut LP, Lovers, early this month.

Comprised of Norwegian singer-songwriter from Gjøvik & New Zealand born Brady Daniell-Smith, together they craft the fabulous electro-pop something acutely obvious from their debut LP, and latest single ‘Always’. Like we’ve come to expect, ‘Always’ is a sublime slice of glacial, crystalline electro-pop with warm edges. Quite restrained, it shuffles along a slow groove allowing Lotterud’s soft vocals to shine and upping the lushness of the song. It’s a pristine piece of electro-pop from a duo who have an innate the knack for combining stunning soundscapes with thoughtful songwriting.

Listen to ‘Always’ below and if you like what you hear, check out Lovers here.

The Anglo-Swedish pair continue this trend, returning with amazing new single, ‘Swirls In The Swimming Pool’. San Jua have crafted a fabulous sound of dreamy textures and bewitching vocals floating over bubbling pulses, hypnotic pulsing bass and drenched piano loops. ‘Swirls In The Swimming Pool’ is infectious, hypnotic, mesmerizing and ultimately exquisite. Retro Kid – ‘Time Waster’ (feat. Emily Bolton)

Copenhagen outfit Retro Kid introduced themselves to us earlier this summer with a series of irresistible electronic productions in the shape of their self-titled EP.

Not content with that, Retro Kid have shared genre-hopping new single, ‘Time Waster’. It is an enticing blend of folk, pop and electronica, featuring the melodic vocal delights of Emily Bolton atop. Driven by busy, galloping beats which are joined in tandem by fat basslines and electro squelches, ‘Time Waster’ is anything but. The sweet melodies, bouts of breeziness, synthetic acid twists are joyful and playful, reminding us that Retro Kid are one of the finest new discoveries of summer 2017. Bright, sprightly and damn irresistible – ‘Time Waster’ – is all kinds of wonderful.

You can tune into ‘Time Waster’ (feat. Emily Bolton) above. You can check out their debut EP here.

Satin Jackets – ‘Northern Lights’ (ft. David Harks)

German producer Satin Jackets has joined forces with Brighton-bred/Berlin-based artist David Harks for latest single ‘Northern Lights’.

Inspired by a recent trip to Norway and experiencing the Northern Lights, so moved was Tim Bernhardt aka Satin Jackets, the new single is his attempt to capture some of his experiences in musical form. ‘Northern Lights’ is as spectacular as one would imagine its namesake to be. It is a cruisy, disco-infused indie-electro delight with a chilled vibe, lovely floaty melody, a mild undercurrent of the Balearic and a healthy sprinkling of cosmic pop – due in no small part to some incredibly dreamy vocals courtesy of Mr. Harks. Undeniably infectious, this aural treat is sure to sooth your soul and get your head bopping to its pulsing electro beat groove. David Harks has been delivering the goods – under his solo guise & with Safetalk – for a while now but Satin Jackets is a new intro (for me at least), and one we’re better for.  Such is the high calibre of ‘Norther Lights’, let’s all hope these pair collaborate again in future.

Kan Wakan – ‘Phantasmagoria Pt. 1’

kanwakan7-1

After the release a slew of the outstanding tracks ‘Still Feather’, ‘I Had To Laugh’ and ‘I Would’, to name but a few, Los Angeles-based artist Kan Wakan continues this fine form with ‘Phantasmagoria Pt. 1’.

‘Phantasmagoria Pt. 1’ features Elle Olsun and the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, bring his usual deft touch for wonderful electronic sounds with pop vibes and a classical twist. Slow-building, it gradually reveals itself along a clip-clop percussion, this breathtaking and beguiling journey is flanked by sweeping orchestral flourishes and production wizardry culminating to leave us with a lavish and magical five-minute trip. All that said, the pièce de résistance throughout is the sumptuous vocals of Elle Olsun, which are simply stunning – and that is putting it mildly. Kan Wakan has already proven himself on numerous occasions already but with ‘Phantasmagoria Pt. 1’ he has kicked things up another level.

You can listen to ‘Phantasmagoria Pt. 1’ below – it does not disappoint.

A song about frustration born from having people around you that don’t see things or believe in them the way you do, ‘I’m A Dreamer’ is a pristine piece of alt-pop. Harnessing its persuasive pop powers from a perfect brew of brooding synths, chiming textures and sharp percussion, topped by bright and alluring vocals from Hansson. Catchy a captivating, this is pop done right.

Pink Fruit is the moniker and latest project of LA musician, Ashley Garcia.

Garcia’s latest release is new single, ‘Komputer’; an apparent ode to cellphone culture. Whatever the song’s inspiration, it is a playful, giddy and infectious piece of electro-pop. Floaty atmospherics and twinkling synths are interspersed with playful bouts of electronics, as a bouncy beat steadily reveals itself. Garcia’s heavenly vocals are the icing on the cake for this cheerful, dreamy and irresistible bundle of joy. This is one of those tunes that will paste a big smile on even the most glum of faces. Wonderful!
