Lamb Markous (aka Lambros Markousis) is a musician and songwriter from Buffalo, in the US.
Inspired by everything from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, John Lennon to Kendrick Lamar, his organic acoustic sounds are formed with lo-fi psychedelic textures and an experimental edge. His most recent work, a series of bedroom recordings, armed only with one mic and a computer, are astoundingly warm, inviting and great – the latest of which, is ‘Look Back Down’. It swoons and swells as it drips along melodically, at an unhurried canter along a rough, fuzzy acoustic strum and joined by a mildly mournful, lightly fuzzed vocals. While the lyrics kick back against the bullshit and hum-drum of life, ‘Look Back Down’ feels overwhelmingly optimistic, if somewhat melancholic, and fills the heart with warmth. A joy!
You can listen to ‘Look Back Down’ below, and there is plenty more where that came from, here.
